End of Year Party

With the end of the baseball season a few weeks away, we wanted to invite everyone on over to our house for an End of the Season Party.

Our last game is Saturday, May 16th at 5:30. Following the game we'd like to invite the team, their family and brothers and sisters over for a barbecue and pool party.

Our address is 12045 Mountbatten Drive, 33626. We are located at the corner of Countryway and Racetrack in the NewCastle Subdivision (right behind the 7-11 shopping center).

When you come into the neighborhood, make your first left onto Mountbatten and then we are the first house on the left.

We've enjoyed the season so far and look forward to everyone joining us to celebrate a fun and enjoyable season. I want to thank everyone again for all of their help!

Pictures are on...

I have not heard anything yet and since it looks like its not raining around the fields, I assume the pictures are still on. If you can make it great. If not, no big deal. I'm sure there will be a makeup day scheduled. There are two parts of picture day. The individual picture which we will take this morning.

Because a number of our teammates could not make it today, we will take a full team picture on another day.

Pictures

As of now..I believe pictures are still on if you are able to make it. Check back here by 8:35 and I'll post a final update on whether they are on or cancelled due to rain.

Tampa Bay Rays Game

There was a wonderful suggestion today to do a team trip/event to a Tampa Bay Rays game. We're going to start looking into possible dates for group tickets. As we get more details, we'll let you know. I just wanted to pass the info along so you can tuck it away to start thinking if you want to participate.

Thanks again to everyone for all of their help in making this a successful little league season for the kids!

Early Season Update

We have two games under our belts and I think the kids are doing terrific. Our hitting looks strong, the fielding looks good at this stage of the season and our catching and throwing are improving. But most of all, it seems they are all enjoying themselves!

I want to thank all of the parents that are helping out. I really appreciate it and it really helps our team move smoothly and the kids learning. If you havn't had a chance to help out yet and want to, join us on the field prior to next game and we'll definitely find ways to help out.

There should be a snacks schedule going around. Its nice for the kids to have snacks after the game as a reward for a hard played game. Nothing too complicated, maybe simple juice box and a light treat of some sort. If you havn't signed up yet, please keep an eye out at the next game for the sign up sheet.

Thanks again for all of your help.

***IMPORTANT OPENING DAY CHANGE ****

Hello Hooks!

The opening day parade/ceremony is scheduled for 9:00...please plan on meeting over at the practice fields by 8:45. I will have uniforms to hand out. You will be given Hats, Shirts and Socks. The recommended color pants are Grey...but are not provided by the league. I personally don't care what pants your kids wear, so its up to you. Our official uniform calls for grey pants.

The opening day Game has been moved back 1/2 hour to 12:00 Noon. We will be playing the first game at 12:00 noon. Please try to be at the field about 20 minutes prior to the game for our first game.

There are no more scheduled practices. Only games from now on. I should have the full schedule posted shortly. Remember --- NO MORE MONDAY OR SATURDAY PRACTICES!!!

And finally, I want to thank all of the parents that have been helping out at practice so far. If I havn't had a chance to thank you personally, I really appreciate it. From the onfield help, to the dugout help, all assistance is hugely helpful and thank you very much. The kids seem to be enjoying themselves so far.

Please try to arrive to all games 15 to 20 minutes prior to Game Time. Thank you.

Also..we still need help for the opening day gift basket fundraiser. Please see post below for details. If you are interested in coordinating or helping out, please let me know.

Thank you!!

Saturday September 21st CLINIC

This Saturday, September 21st....

we will have a team practice at 9:00.

Also, there is a volunteer "Field Cleanup Day" from 11:00 to 1:00 for anyone interested in helping prepare the fields and grounds for the upcoming season. Any and all help is appreciated from the league.

Lastly, there is a FREE BASEBALL CLINIC from 3:00 to 5:00 for anyone interested. There will be some terrific instructors and it is open to any player interested. This is a wonderful league activity that they put together.

Opening Day Silent Auction

Every team is responsible for putting together a "Gift Basket" for fundraising on opening day. If you would like to volunteer to coordinate this activity for our team, please let me know asap. To find out more information on the themes of the baskets, please visit : www.keystonelittleleague.org and scroll down to "forms, downloads, and maps" and click on the "click here" button. After clicking you will see an excel spreadsheet at the bottom called "silent-auction themes".

Thank you!!

Practice Schedule Update

The first practice is under our belts. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and is looking forward to having a fun season.

After discussion, we've changed the practice schedule going forward. Practices for these first few weeks will be Saturday morning at 9:00 and Monday afternoons at 5:00. I realize these may not be ideal for all, but given the scheduling issues of the fields, I think this works best for the time being.

Opening day will be February 28th..and as I get more information, schedules, etc....I'll keep you posted.

Remember...***MONDAY PRACTICE WILL BE FROM 5:00 to 6:00 ***

Welcome to The Hooks

Welcome to our baseball team, The Hooks. I figured this would be a good place to post team information, so that you can find out anything you need regarding practice, games, information, cancellations, reschedules, whatever.

You can reach me by email at Klausfamily05@yahoo.com or my cell phone.

Our first practice is schedule for tonite (Wednesday evening) at 7:00. I do realize Wednesday isn't a good day for most of us, so we will look to reschedule to another day going forward and most likely at 4:00 instead of 7:00. 7:00 seems kind of late for school nights.

Our second practice is scheduled for Saturday morning at 9:00. All practices and games will take place on the Pee Wee fields which are located on the far end of the complex next to South Mobley and next to the houses in the neighborhood.

Opening Day is scheduled for February 28th.

I do need a few volunteers for the team, so don't be shy. Our assistant coach is Chip Taylor. We could use a Team Mom/Dad to coordinate snacks, etc. I also could use some help with On Field practice and games, so if you are interested, Thank You!! And lastly, some dugout help during games to keep the kids under control while the coaches are on the field. If you can help in any way, its greatly appreciated. Just email me or let me know in person.

We look forward to a fun and enjoyable season!
